· “How am I spending my Christmas holidays? I’m going with the traditional, you know? I like to spend the Christmas holidays with my family and friends.”

· “What I want fans to know about this 12 Nights of Christmas album is that it’s an album I’ve always wanted to do because Christmas is my favorite holiday. Therefore, I’ve always wanted to do an album that represented Christmas.”

· “Well, shopping tips for me is I would say start saving early, make a list, be very thoughtful and whatever you do, do not wait till the last minute.”

· “The reason I knew that the 12 nights of Christmas was ready for this year, this Christmas? It just felt good to my soul, you know, just like any other completion as far as my music is concerned. Once it feels good to me and feels completed, you know, I know it’s ready.”

· “I absolutely honestly have been working on the twelve nights of Christmas since 2012. It’s pretty hard to sing or write a Christmas album doing all original songs so I really took my time on this one.”

· “My thinking behind producing and writing The 12 Nights of Christmas was simply I really have established myself as an artist in this business, and I just wanted to be official by doing a Christmas album, something I’ve always wanted to do. Now that The 12 Nights of Christmas is done, I really feel established now officially as an artist.”

· “Christmas albums that has influenced and touched me over the years, Stevie Wonder, Donny Hathaway, Nat King Cole.”

· “What makes a great Christmas album to me is an album that’s full of music that totally, as soon as you hear it, you feel the spirit of Christmas and you feel the spirit of joy.”

· “Home for Christmas simply came when I was on my way home from the studio, and I called my girl and told her I’m on the way home. Right away I turned the car around and went back into the studio and wrote Home for Christmas. Enjoy.”

· “The Christmas song that really sums it up for me this Christmas is the Christmas Song itself by Nat King Cole.”

· “The song writing process for the Twelve Nights of Christmas was simply respecting Christmas, respecting all the elements of Christmas and the things that it comes with. Family, love, peace, happiness and joy. You know and taking all of those elements and channeling it into the music and the lyrics.”

· “No matter where I go around the world, and I’ve gotten a lot of love everywhere I’ve gone but Chicago is my home. It’s where I was born and raised. I street performed and pretty much got my stripes, my musical stripes here so my favorite place in Chicago is Chicago itself because I’ve been all over the city now and I just love my home.”

· “Once upon a time, I was a child that had to share Christmas toys with my brothers and sister because my mom couldn’t afford to buy all of us individual toys, the things that we wanted. But her love was so strong for us that we realized at a very young age, that love was the greatest gift of all times, for Christmas and everyday to come.”

· “I have many stories of fans discovering me at this point of my career. I’ve been in the business for almost 30 years I think, and fans will find me anywhere, in the malls, going to McDonald’s, or just even on the basketball court, they find me. Even when I don’t want to be found, they find me, but it’s fun. It’s fun to know that you’re known and loved.”

· “When people discover it makes a connection, a real connection with my music, it’s the greatest feeling in the world to know that my lyrics, my songs, my production came out of my soul and into the world, and people agreed with it. They connected with it. It’s just an awesome feeling. It’s really unexplainable.”
